National Co-ordination Council Chairman for the District Public Safety Commissions (DPSCs) Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmad has said that with a view to making the Public Safety Commissions (PSCs) more active, the National Reconstruction Bureau had forwarded its proposals & suggestions to the President of Pakistan for approval after finalising the same.

After the approval and implementation of these proposals/suggestions it would help a lot to make the Public Safety Commissions more active and result oriented bodies.

He stated this during the meeting of local District Public Safety Commission held here under the chairmanship of Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmad. He said, he was opposing some of the proposed amendments in the Police order 2002, on the ground that these amendments would open the door of political influence in Public Safety Commissions.

Chairman Provincial Commission Syed Alamdar Hussain Shah said that so far different DPSCs' throughout the country had recommended action on 87 cases after conducting fact finding enquiries but instead of implementing the same, their re-inquiry was got conducted from the officers of SDPOs

level and the cases were filed. He said that up till now neither any action had been taken on even a single case out of 87 nor any report had been sent to the concerned District Public Safety Commission.

On this occasion senior member, Mian Muhammad Hanif briefed about the performance of District Public Safety Commission Faisalabad and said that with the setting up of these bodies it was now easier to redress the public problems and DPSCs were doing a good job while remaining within the given resources.
